The European Conference on EDGE AI Technologies and Applications (EEAI 2025) was held on 20–22 October in the heart of Naples, Italy, at the scenic Hotel San Francesco al Monte. Bringing together innovators and researchers at the forefront of edge computing and AI, the event served as a key forum for discussing the convergence of IoT, edge AI, generative and agentic AI—technologies driving the next phase of smart, decentralized systems.
EdgeAI-Trust Presented by Project Coordinator Mohammed Abuteir
Mohammed Abuteir of TTTech Auto, the Project Coordinator of EdgeAI-Trust, represented the project in a dedicated session that presented its vision, scope, architecture, and early results to a highly engaged audience of academic and industry stakeholders.
In his presentation, Mohammed highlighted EdgeAI-Trust’s unique approach to developing robust, explainable, and secure AI solutions for edge deployments in critical sectors like automotive, manufacturing, and smart cities. His intervention sparked discussions on how to align safety, performance, and trust in edge intelligence systems—contributing to the larger mission of European digital sovereignty in AI.
BUILDING FUTURE-READY EDGE AI SYSTEMS
Throughout the 3-day conference, EdgeAI-Trust was well-positioned in the broader landscape of European R&I efforts. Mohammed’s presentation addressed the integration of a zero-trust architecture, the importance of cross-domain collaboration, and the role of EU-wide standards and regulatory alignment in fostering safe and reliable AI systems at the edge.
This participation not only advanced awareness of the project’s strategic goals but also emphasized EdgeAI-Trust’s contribution to shaping Europe’s future AI ecosystem.
KEY HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE CONFERENCE:
- Participation in discussions on AI robustness, safety assurance, and real-time edge learning
- Live showcase of EdgeAI-Trust’s approach to explainable, standards-aligned AI in automotive systems
- Knowledge exchange with sister projects SAFEXPLAIN and ULTIMATE
- Strong representation in strategic conversations on aligning AI lifecycle trustworthiness with evolving EU regulations
